DESCRIPTION :

Paracetamol has an analgesic and antipyretic effect. The mechanism of analgesic action is also associated with the inhibition of prostaglandin synthesis primarily at the center of thermoregulation in the hypothalamus. Antipyretic effect of paracetamol is associated with a direct effect on the hypothalamic centers of thermoregulation, which increases the heattransfer due to vasodilation and increased sweating.

Chlorpheniramine maleate: An antagonist of H1 - receptor histamine, used to treat allergies. Competing with histamine for H1 receptors of effector cells, it prevents the effect of histamine through them (tissue swelling and increased capillary permeability), but does not eliminate its effects if they have already developed. As part of the drug, it provides an additional reduction in nasal congestion, a reduction in runny nose and sneezing.

DOSAGE AND ADMINISTRATION:

Phenylephrine hydrochloride): A sympathomimetic amine, is a stimulator of -adrenoreceptors of blood vessels, has little effect on -adrenergic receptors of the heart. It causes a narrowing of arterioles and an increase in blood pressure. Promotes dilatation of the pupils and can lower the intraocular pressure in glaucoma. The mydriatic effect is less prolonged than with the use of atropine. Affecting the -adrenergic receptors in the mucosa of the respiratory tract causes narrowing of its vessels. This temporarily reduces the swelling of the nasal mucosa arising from inflammation.

Vitamin C concentrations in the plasma and leukocytes rapidly decline during infections and stress. Supplementation of vitamin C was found to improve components of the human immune system such as antimicrobial and natural killer cell activities, lymphocyte proliferation, chemotaxis, and delayed-type hypersensitivity. Vitamin C contributes to maintaining the redox integrity of cells and thereby protects them against reactive oxygen species generated during the respiratory burst and in the inflammatory response.

DOSAGE:
Powder for solution for oral administration. Pour the contents of the sachet into a cup, pour boiling water, stir well.
Adults: 1 sachet every 4-6 hours. Do not take more than 4 sachets in 24 hours.
Children over 12 years: 1 sachet every 6 hours. Do nottake more than 3 sachets in 24 hours.
If symptoms persist for 3-5 days, consult a physician.
Do not exceed the indicated dose.

DESCRIPTION

Paracetamol inhibits the synthesis of prostaglandins in the central nervous system and peripherally blocks pain impulse generation; produces antipyresis from inhibition of hypothalamic heat-regulating center.
Ibuprofen is an NSAID which is believed to work through inhibition of cyclooxygenase (COX), thus inhibiting prostaglandin synthesis. There are at least 2 variations of cyclooxygenase (COX-1 and COX-2), ibuprofen inhibits both COX-1 and COX-2. It appears that its analgesic, antipyretic, and anti-inflammatory activity are achieved principally through COX-2 inhibition; whereas COX-1 inhibition is responsible for its unwanted effects on platelet aggregation and the GI mucosa.

The cytoprotective effect of "essential" phospholipids (EPL) has been evidenced in 5 in - vitro studies with EPL in 18 different models of liver damage and with 5 animal species. The hepatoprotective effect of EPL has clearly been confirmed. Also curative and regenerative effects have been seen in the experiments. The hepatoprotective action of EPL seems to be based on the inhibition of lipid peroxidation as the earliest measurable event on the molecular level.

A safe treatment even in cases of advanced liver disease like hepatic encephalopathy Shows prolonged survival, as an improvement of hepatic encephalopathy in comparison to control group Administration of EPL i.v. is a safe treatment of advanced liver disease. In the group of patients treated with EPL i.v. was observed prolonged survival, as an improvement of hepatic encephalopathy in comparison to control group.

Useful in patients infected with viral hepatitis B infections
A trial was conducted for clinical efficacy of EPL. Twenty-three EPL-treated patients with hepatitis B abusing alcohol were compared to a control group receiving standard treatment. EPL has advantages as it shortens jaundice, cholestasis, enhances recovery of lipid metabolism in erythrocytic membranes and antioxidant properties of blood. EPL holds promise in multimodality treatment of combined hepatic lesions.

Displays hepatoprotection in chronic alcohol intoxication
EPL reduce the level of cAMP and the activity of adenylate cyclase. The activity of cAMPdependent protein kinase becomes normal only with high doses of EP (300 mg/kg). It is suggested that the hepatoprotective effect of EP may be manifested through normalization of the cAMP-dependenttransduction of a signal, resulting in stabilization of hepatic metabolic processes.

Produces favorable effect in liver damages caused by total parenteral nutrition (TPN)
Parenteral EPL administration can have a favourable effect on liver damage caused by TPN, associated with cholestasis and biliary sludge. This conclusion can be hypothetically explained by improved bile fluidity and protection of the bile pole of the hepatocyte by essential phospholipids. Therefore their administration during TPN can be recommended.

Justifies the need of parenteral administration due to poor oral bioavailability
Within 24 hours > 90 % of orally administered EPL is absorbed and transported to the liver. The maximum absorption is reached after 6 — 8 hours. Afterthis time the plasma level is 5-10  %. The half time of elimination from the plasma is 30 hours. Thus to increase the percentage of EPL in the vascular system, intravenous application is important, as >90% of oral administration enters the enterohepatic pathway.

DOSAGE AND ADMINISTRATION :

Unless otherwise prescribed, adults and adolescents are injected slowly intravenously 1-2 ampoules, in sever cases 2-4 ampoules a day. The contents of two ampoules can be given simultaneously.

Withania somnifera (Ashwagandha) :
"Measuring various biochemical and stress parameters before and after treatment, suggested a definite role of stress in male infertility and the ability of W. somnifera to treat stress-related infertility. The treatment resulted in pregnancy in the partners of 14% of the patients." Researchers also assessed bacterial growth in full-thickness wounds and demonstrated a reduced rate of growth with topical zinc oxide but not in hyperglycemic diabetic rats.
